Love this place. It's somehow always busy in the evenings, no matter what time you go.
They have the absolute B E S T chicken wings ever. I don't know what they do but they are God sent. So flavourful and not overly salty. Absolute must try.
Otherwise, I'm also a fan of their lamb skewers and the cold noodles. I order them every time I'm there.
The only negative things I could say about this place is that some of their seafood is questionable in terms of quality/freshness and pretty much all of their skewers use the same spices so they end up tasting pretty similar - spicy. -

Pro: Decent service, big and bright restaurant, no smoke in my clothes, really well marinated, delicious skewers. $3 Tsing Tao beers!
Con: Service biased towards Mandarin speakers, minimum orders make it difficult for 2 people to try different things.
My first impression upon entering the restaurant was that it's at least 4x bigger than the Richmond location, plus it's cleaner and brighter, and not a lot of smokiness. It's definitely hustling and bustling at around 8PM on a long weekend night. Another thing I noticed was that the majority of signs were written in Chinese.. which I can read but I find it offputting.
We put our names down on the list and sat waiting with a few more groups of people. The wait wasn't too long. One thing though - the hostess came over to the waiting area a few times and asked in Mandarin whether anyone with a party of 2 would be willing to share a table, or to take bar seating. Obviously since it was communicated in Mandarin, this gives priority to those who can understand the question in order to take advantage of the chance to get a table earlier. Thankfully (for me) I understand Mandarin, and we grabbed the bar seating.
We were seated directly in front of the grillers in the kitchen area, which were separated from us with wall to wall plexiglass. There was not much smokiness at all. The only issue was that we were also seated directly under a row of TVs blasting Chinese MVs.. and because we were so close to the speakers my eardrums were actually hurting. Thankfully the servers turned down the audio once we asked.
We got to the see the grilling in action and the hectic serving of the skewers. Servers did not have gloves on, but based on what we can observe, none of the servers touched the meat.
We ordered as much variety as possible. Overall, the meats were very well spiced/ marinated, and well cooked. The following are all minimum quantities per item:
- Special lamb x 5
- Original lamb x 5
- Spicy chicken wings x 2 - This was really good. Tiniest chicken wings I've ever seen though. There were 2 tiny wings per skewer.
- Prime beef x 5 - A bit too well done, but still good.
- Chicken gristle (knee) x 5 - I'd skip this one next time, prefer chicken knees deep fried.
- BBQ scallops x 2 - Super tiny bbq scallops in their shells.. but the flavour was really good. Might not be worth it for some.
- Grilled buns x 2 - Being a fan of Chinese white buns, this one was really good. It was a bit overpriced for what it was but I'd order it again!
Also I have to reiterate - beer is $3 each. Which is awesome because the beer goes so well with the skewers :)
I'd definitely come back, but would be better with more people so we can try different things! -

Delicious but service is so so.
Special and original is good.
You can separate only three bills maximum. -

I bet you will like their BBQ! The lamb meat is very tasty make me think of Greece BBQ lamb I had one time. Also their special way to cook cod fish in a flat pan, it's a bit spicy, but the meat is very tender and juicy, I love it!

I didn't expect to see such a vast and open dining area when I walked it. This is a very room place. I liked it right off the bat. When ordering, you mark what you want off a menu list. Be wary, it can add up fast!! The left column are the BBQ meats. They have minimums (mostly 5 sticks) on the skewers, so you can't just order one. So for example, the beef kabobs. At $1.99 minimum of 5, that's $10 right there! It's ALL so yummy, you seriously can just keep ordering and ordering and before you know it ... you're at $110 tab for three people!!
They have different names for common things that we felt was a bit misleading. For example, what they call Deep Fried Ice-cream is basically Cream Puffs. I've bought the same thing from Costco in a huge tub. Then they have a dish called Spicy Mini Lobsters. This is crawfish.
We are definitely going back. We saw other customers ordering this dish, it was an entire fish served on a sizzling platter. With only three of us eating it didn't make sense to order such a huge dish. So next time we're bringing back up!!
